The casino building is a notable landmark, with a tennis court, ballroom, and bowling alley available. The McAuley Heritage Center, located near the Formal Gardens, holds regular educational, cultural, and entertainment programs for the benefit of students.

Undergraduate Study at Georgian Court University

Georgian Court, the only Catholic university serving Central and Southern New Jersey, offers more than 35 undergraduate programs with numerous concentrations, certificate programs, and areas of minor study.

The university is dedicated to student success, both personally and professionally. Open to students who commute, live on campus, or take courses online, GCU offers a comprehensive liberal arts education in the Roman Catholic tradition. Since 1924, the estate has been home to a liberal arts university, which maintains many notable features of the original estate including the Casino Building, which once sheltered an enclosed polo court, tennis and squash courts, swimming pool, ballroom, three-lane bowling alley and guest rooms. Georgian Court’s 156-acre campus is located in Lakewood, New Jersey, along the shore of scenic Lake Carasaljo at the northern edge of the Pine Barrens.

GCU’s programs encompass undergraduate, graduate, and certificate programs offered with flexible and convenient scheduling—on campus, online, and through accelerated and hybrid courses. Undergraduate programs are available at the main campus in Lakewood and select courses of study are offered through GCU@Hazlet and GCU@Rowan College of South Jersey–Cumberland Campus.

The learning environment at GCU is truly student-centered, with services that support and empower students to explore ideas, solve problems, make decisions, and develop leadership skills.
